In the match against KKR at Eden Gardens, the RCB team faced a close defeat by 1 run. The dismissal of the RCB team’s star batsman Virat Kohli in this match caused controversies.

Kohli looked angry after the controversy over the third umpire’s no-ball and was seen arguing with the umpire. However, this matter did not end there. BCCI has now fined Virat Kohli 50 per cent of the match fee.

Virat Kohli Had To Argue Heavily With The Umpire, BCCI Fined Him

A considerable controversy arose after Virat Kohli was out in the 36th match of IPL 2024, played between KKR and RCB. BCCI fined Virat Kohli 50 per cent of the match fee.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) said in a statement that Mr Virat Kohli had been fined 50 per cent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the match against KKR at the Eden Gardens.

Virat Kohli later accepted his mistake. Let us tell you that Virat Kohli was found guilty of Level 1 Offense Under Article 2.8 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct.

Know The Whole Matter Regarding Virat Kohli’s Wicket?

In the third over of the RCB team’s innings, Harshit Rana bowled the first ball, a high full toss, on which Virat Kohli tried to hit the ball with the bat. The shot’s timing was incorrect, and thus, it went into Harshit’s hands.

KKR immediately appealed regarding Kohli’s wicket, and Kohli believed that this ball was above his waist, so he took DRS. After this, with the help of Hawk-Eye, the third umpire saw that Kohli was ahead of the crease, but the ball was going deep. In such a situation, he was given out. Kohli was seen confronting the umpire after this decision.


While going to the pavilion, Virat Kohli expressed his displeasure by slamming the bat. After leaving the field, he knocked down the dustbin near the dugout with his gloves. After this act, he was fined.
