Virat Kohli Reveals The Real Reason Behind Wearing Number 18 Jersey, Video Surfaced

Indian cricket team’s veteran batsman Virat Kohli is playing his 16th season for RCB in IPL, in which he is scoring many runs with his bat. Like international cricket, Virat Kohli also has many records in this tournament and is one of the legendary batsmen of the IPL.

Many fans also know Kohli by his jersey number, but no one knows why Virat always wears jersey number 18. In an interview given to StarSports, the right-handed batsman Kohli has finally revealed his secret, whose video is doing the rounds on social media.

In his interview with Star Sports, Virat Kohli said, Initially, it was just a number I got with my jersey during my first U-19 match. I didn’t ask them for it; it was just given to me, but it became special with time. I played my debut match on 18th August 2008, my father passed away on 18th December 2006, and both were critical days in my life. Since then, my special connection with 18 numbers has been added.

He further said I feel exceptional when I go out to play on the field and see fans wearing jerseys of this number with my name written on them. I never thought that I would get to see anything like this. Even in childhood, he used to wear jerseys with the numbers of his favourite cricketers. Seeing all this, I feel thrilled that God has given me this opportunity, and I consider myself very lucky.

Significantly, in the 65th match of the tournament today, there will be a clash between RCB and Sunrisers, which will be very important for Bangalore. RCB will try to move forward in the playoff race by winning this match.
