Gurgaon-based company TechEagle, a pioneer in on-demand drone delivery, has achieved a significant milestone in collaboration with AIIMS Rishikesh. He has successfully conducted the longest drone flight to deliver TB medicines under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Yojana. This success shows how drone technology can revolutionize access to healthcare facilities.
Drone Didi Scheme Made Successful
The Prime Minister’s ‘Drone Didi’ scheme significantly made this problematic flight in the hilly areas successful. This scheme trains women’s self-help groups (SHGs) to operate and monitor drones. With this, village women can learn to fly drones and bring changes in their lives. In this way, she also helps to progress her community.
Medicine Arrived In 34 Minutes
Drones delivered medicines from AIIMS Rishikesh to remote areas like Chamba Center and Hindolakhal Centre. These hilly areas are very high and crooked, but the drone took off quickly and completed the journey of 47 kilometres by climbing more than 2.5 kilometres in one go. It used to take more than 4 hours to cover this route by road, but the drone delivered the medicines in just 34 minutes.
Vikram Singh Meena, Founder and CEO of TechEagle, said, ‘This success aligns perfectly with the visionary goals of our Prime Minister. This shows how committed we are to increasing drone operations in Uttarakhand. Overcoming the difficulties of the mountains, this achievement establishes us as a leader in drone technology. The ability to quickly deliver medicines to remote areas lies within drones, our work’s main objective.’
