After imposing heavy import duties on countries around the world and expelling illegal immigrants from the government, US President Donald Trump has now banned citizens of 12 countries from entering the US. With this, people from these countries will no longer be able to travel to the US. This is not the first time that US President Trump has imposed a travel ban on some countries.
He had also banned many countries from entering the US during his first term. But it was later removed. Now, once again, Trump’s tough attitude is being seen. After this, President Trump has completely banned citizens of many countries from entering the US. Apart from this, President Trump has also taken strict action against seven other countries, citing the security of America.
People From These Countries Will Not Be Able To Travel To The US
US President Donald Trump announced this on Wednesday night. He signed a declaration and banned people from 12 countries from entering the US. This ban will take effect on Monday, i.e., June 9. The countries whose people Trump has banned from entering the US include Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. Apart from these, Trump has imposed strict sanctions on seven countries. These include Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela. The new order will take effect from noon on Monday.
What Did President Trump Say?
While imposing a travel ban on 12 countries, President Trump said, “I must act to protect the national security and national interests of the United States and its people.” Let us tell you that earlier Trump had given an executive order on January 20, in which the State and Homeland Security departments and the Director of National Intelligence were asked to prepare a report on “hostile attitude” towards the US and find out whether people coming from some countries pose a risk to national security. After the report came out, Trump imposed a complete ban on 12 countries. At the same time, strict action has been taken against 7 countries.
