Vasant Rathod, who worked for the SGST department, suffered a heart attack while playing a cricket match on Saturday. He was fielding when he suddenly had severe chest pain and fell. Fellow players tried to help him, but his condition worsened. He was then taken to the hospital.

Rathod’s Condition During the Match

Rathod was fit when he came onto the field to play. Standing near the bowling crease, he suddenly started experiencing severe chest pain. He sat down for a few moments, but his condition worsened quickly.

The Tragic End

Rathod was taken first to the Dental College, where the match was being played, and then to Sola Civil Hospital, where he passed away. The SGST department senior officer reported that two other cricketers, Prashant Bharolia and Jignesh Chauhan, also passed away due to heart attacks after playing matches and complaining of chest pain. These incidents have caused much sadness and concern in the Indian cricket community.
