The Pakistan Cricket Board, i.e. PCB, has, in a way, agreed to play in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The PCB has given the green signal to the ICC that the team is ready to travel to the neighbouring country for the tournament in India. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to send one of its teams to India before that, which will look after the stadium and the security arrangements there. Only after this, the Pakistan team will come to India.
Pakistani media has confirmed that the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to send its team to India to play in the World Cup. Apart from this, Pakistan will send its security team to India to check the World Cup venues and ensure the safety of Pakistani players. ODI World Cup is to be played in India in October-November, but till now, Pakistan has been talking about boycotting this tournament.
The tussle between India and Pakistan over hosting the Asia Cup 2023 continues. The Pakistan Cricket Board has the right to host this year’s Asia Cup, but India has refused to go to Pakistan at any cost. In such a situation, there is a demand to organize the tournament at a neutral venue. Still, Pakistan wants that if the tournament not organized in Pakistan, it should be organized on this hybrid model.
Even PCB Chairman Najam Sethi has emphasized in his many previous interviews that he will boycott the ODI World Cup if the hosting of Asia Cup 2023 is snatched from him. Even if they agree, they will go to India on the condition that Team India will come to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. However, according to the reports, Pakistan has decided to send the team to the India World Cup.
